The India Pavilion – Bharat – at the ongoing World Expo 2025 in Osaka witnessed an overwhelming response, drawing over 24,700 visitors on August 3 alone, according to the Indian Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).
The pavilion offered a vibrant showcase of India’s progress, culture, and innovation, featuring attractions such as the “One District One Product” (ODOP) zone, where agate stone paintings from Anand, Gujarat captivated audiences with their intricate designs and glowing artistry.
A key highlight was the Chandrayaan Zone, celebrating India’s space achievements and inspiring visitors with stories of the country’s lunar missions and scientific ambition.
Yoga sessions were also conducted at the pavilion and saw enthusiastic participation from global attendees seeking wellness and mindfulness.
The Indian Embassy in Tokyo highlighted the ODOP exhibit on X (formerly Twitter), describing the Gujarat agate paintings as “glowing masterpieces” that reflect India’s timeless craftsmanship. Another post spotlighted the Chandrayaan exhibit as “a proud showcase of innovation, ambition, and cosmic curiosity.”
On Saturday, the pavilion welcomed over 23,000 guests, offering immersive experiences ranging from cultural heritage and handicrafts to India’s scientific innovations and performing arts. Past events included traditional Kathak performances and energetic Bollywood dance shows.
India’s participation at Expo 2025 is part of the broader ‘Special Strategic and Global Partnership’ shared with Japan—an enduring relationship rooted in shared spiritual and civilizational values.
